Austin House of Prayer strongly desires to support the growth of prayer in local churches and throughout the city of Austin. At the same time, while prayer has been the focus of our ministry and lives for some years now, we are at the beginning of the beginning and will be the first to join you in asking the Lord to "Teach us how to pray!"

We have developed some basic tools and models to help individuals and groups pray together, which we are happy to share, though we want to also be sensitive to see each church develop its own strong, unique voice.

• Communication tools - we have a rich collection of brochures, bulletin inserts, web site material, online schedule signup, etc. available for use.
• Prayer book of Scriptural prayers - we have gathered hundreds of the prayers recorded in the Bible into a prayer book, so that it is easy to pick it up and immediately begin praying from scripture according to one of eight themes: Adoration, Listening, Longing, Grieving, Requesting, Enjoying, Acquiescing, Thanksgiving.
• Prayer room guidelines - we have three guidelines for our prayer room, and we encourage a similar set for each local church prayer room. Our three are (1) show up early for your prayer time, (2) pray at least one Biblical prayer, and (3) pray for and bless the next person or group.
• Prayer models - we are experienced in four prayer models that we can teach: small group prayer, harp & bowl team prayer, contemplative prayer, and free-form prayer.
• Prayer room layout - there are ways to lay out a prayer room that are conducive to 24/7 prayer, we have not only created our own AHOP prayer room, but helped other local churches design their own prayer room for seasons of 24/7 prayer.
• Musical worship - we are developing the capacity to teach musicians how to enter into prayer through musical worship, and we also have a library of songs that we use in our prayer room to facilitate prayer.
