- Desperate prayer - we were made to worship and adore God! We want our ministries to flow out of our relationship with Him, and believe we will be most effective in our work as we are intimately connected with God in prayer.
- United vision - as God draws our hearts together through prayer and fellowship, we believe He will give us a spirit of unity among ourselves as we follow Jesus so that with one heart and mouth we may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! (See Romans 15:5-6.)
- Collaborative preparation - we can do more together than we can individually. The Lord is drawing us to reach across barriers of denomination, race, and gender so that we can work together for His Kingdom to come in Austin and beyond.
Four initiatives we believe God has called us as a community of youth pastors to commit to:
- Youth Pastor Prayer Gatherings - Youth pastors from various streams and denominations are meeting together to pray together, encourage each other, and seek the Lord for ways to work together. One of these meetings is at the Austin House of Prayer every third Friday of the month from 12pm - 2pm, with a free lunch. Other regional groups are forming as well. All of these initiatives are flowing from relationships formed in these gatherings - come join us!
- Annual Youth Prayer Rally - on November 15th, 2009, youth from all over the city and from many different churches will gather to worship Jesus and intercede for Austin! This will be in conjunction with In the City for the City at the parking lot across the street from the Bob Bullock Museum. Youth-lead worship and prayer will be from 3pm to 7:30pm ending with a youth prayer rally from 7:30pm to 9pm. Join us this November!
- Annual Youth Pastor Retreat - on February 1st - 2nd, youth pastors will be meeting together for a weekend retreat. This will be a sweet time to be refreshed in the Lord, encourage each other, and build lasting friendships with other youth pastors!
- Supporting Student-Lead Prayer meetings - seeking ways to equip and train youth to lead prayer meetings in their school that will change the spiritual atmosphere of their campus! Our dream is to see a vibrant prayer meeting in every high school campus in Austin!
